Doggy Day School provides a fun and structured environment that facilitates healthy social interactions, good manners and a high level education for your dog, VS. the chaos and risks that dog parks and unstructured daycares provide.

Who is Doggy Day School good for?
PUPPIES! (Development and Socialization) Carefully structured exposure to other dogs and training is key to helping your puppy develop into a healthy and confident adult! I see it all too often that well meaning owners try to socialize their pups in ways that do more damage than good. Let’s prevent the development of bad behavior into adulthood by starting them off right!
HIGH ENERGY DOGS! (Calming and Regulating) I see it all the time, the happy-go-lucky dog that is sweet, but out of control and often pushy and a bit rude! They never calm down! They are either sleeping or going at 100%. Day School will help them learn to regulate and down-shift their energy so they can actually relax and interact in healthy ways, as well as learn to be respectful when interacting with other dogs and humans.
NERVOUS / UNCERTAIN DOGS (Confidence Building): Some dogs lack confidence because they haven’t had enough socialization, OR they have had some bad experiences at dog parks or daycares. This can shut them down to social interactions and made them nervous about other dogs, or even new environments. Day School provides the right balance of safe routines and boundaries to help them feel safe, while also pushing them a little outside their comfort zone to learn to open up and trust the world a little more!

REQUIREMENTS
Doggy Day School Assessment
The Evaluation session allows your trainer to assess where your dog may fall on the spectrum of this chart. Most dog’s entering our Doggy Day School program are starting in Level Two (2). Over the course of a couple months they usually move through level three (3) and into four (4). After about 6 months, most dogs can reach level five (5)!
To keep the pack balanced with more dogs that are in level 4 & 5, we have a “base pack” to set the tone for the new dogs to learn from.

WHAT WE TEACH ALL THE DOGS
CHARACTER BUILDING
Your dog will learn how to be a polite member of society and to behave appropriately within a pack. We teach character skills like PATIENCE, SELF-CONTROL, SHARING, LISTENING TO & RESPECTING WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING (both dog and human). What this means is we address and correct the following behaviors: pestering others to play, stealing toys, jumping up for attention, pushy for treats, running around with adrenalized energy, generally not listening, etc.
SKILL BUILDING
We will be introducing and fine tuning foundational obedience skills each day. PLACE is used for break times to rest. LEASH MANNERS are enforced during pack walks and play time. SIT & DOWN are skills we build as a pack during group work. THRESHOLD MANNERS are taught when entering or exiting the crate or back-door to go outside (no rushing or pushy behavior allowed).
HEALTHY SOCIALIZATION (Unlike Daycares & Dog Parks)
Dog parks and many daycares are a free-for-all experience…aka “so long as they aren’t fighting or humping, anything goes”. Due to the lack of understanding of proper canine communication and social dynamics, and the failure to facilitate healthy structure and rules, many dogs learn bad behaviors and become “social bullies” (aka the “friendly dog” who is rude and pushy, upsetting other dogs and may even cause a fight). Some dogs even become insecure or reactive from being bullied. Not to mention the amount of fights and damage that happens because no one is diffusing the tension that’s building over time….I could go on and on!
We provide Supervised and Structured Social Interactions in a small group of dogs, with enforced rules of engagement that protects everyone. We are highly skilled in understanding canine communication and social dynamics. We teach the dogs how to behave appropriately and respectfully. This way everyone has a good time and they are all becoming better citizens together!
LEARNING AT A NATURAL PACE
Learning new skills and developing new ways of being takes time. Repeated exposure to the routines and experiences we provide compounds the results of your dog’s learning over time. Our Doggy Day School is offered on a Month-to-Month basis to provide the most successful results for each dog. The first few days allow your dog to get settled in to the environment, group and rules, and each visit after that allows us to build on their learning and behavior skills!
Meet our Base Pack
PROFESSOR WILLARD
Willard is a pivotal part of setting the tone of the pack and maintaining the rules of Doggy Day School. He intuitively assesses each dog in class and knows who he needs to come alongside to encourage and who he needs to be firm with. He has no problem telling another dog they are out of line. He is always fair and never over corrects. He is a peacekeeper who has an instinct to protect sensitive dogs who have a hard time standing up for themselves.
Willard works alongside Kinsey and lets her take the lead most of the time, however he does enjoy teaching the dogs a few lessons here and there! He is the most naturally gifted teacher-dog Kinsey has ever encountered in her 20+ years of working with dogs.
Willard is currently Kinsey’s only personal dog. He was dumped on the streets of Farmersville back in 2023. She rescued him and quickly realized how lucky she was to have found him!
The Doodles
Darcie, Lizzie and Bennett (Yes they are named from Pride & Prejudice!) are part of our “base pack” in Doggy Day School. They are siblings from the same litter and their training journey with us began a few years ago. During their puppy development they began to show signs of “litter-mate syndrome”. This looked like resource guarding food against each other and simultaneously building separation anxiety.
Through our relationship based training and the commitment of their owner, they have grown up to be very sweet and well behaved adults! They now come to Doggy Day School for fulfillment purposes and help set the tone for the pack’s dynamic, and they bring their own personalities to the mix! Darcie is the shy and a bit aloof introvert, Lizzie is the goofy party girl, and Bennett is the calm and even-keeled gentleman.
They love hunting squirrels, playing with Willard, and interacting with all the new dogs in class!
